ok,,,some information on this tounrney first. 43 players and started off with 13.5 k in chips.

Blinds get to 300-600 and Im up to 35k in chips. A player goes all in from utg+1 for 7900 in chips. He has played alot of hands and 2 hands ago lost a big pot. I put him on slightly tilted. I put his hand on small pair or AK AQ.
The table fold to me in the BB with 88. I think about after putting him on a hand I call.
He ends up having JJ and taking the hand down.

MY quesiton is whether I should call off 20% of my stack on a gamble.?? Do you agree or dissagree with my accessment and why.

hand #2
this hand more about ethics in live poker.(if there is any)

Melina had told me a move she played in a live tourney heads up and i liked it. So I took a page from her and used it at the FINAL TABLE of same tourney.
I have 45k in chips
blinds like 1500-3000 and a player utg+3 goes all in for like 7500. I look down at 77 and just call the all in.
all fold except the bb who calls.

so 22.5 in pot. FLOP is 7H 8C 5D and the BB players leads out for 12k
I stand up looking frustrated. walk away for a sec, come back put both hands on table looking flustered.
I pick up my cards to muck, but last sec, I pull it back.I say something like.."ok,,im all in " and get an instant call.
the BB instant calls and I end up taking out 2 players.

MY question, does anyone think its a jerk thing to do to get thim to call to act the way i did? is it poker ? or kinda under handed?

Is it unportsmanlike? like slow rolling AA?

I think personally you didnt slow roll anything. Some one could had 88 in there hand and hit a set too. But the fact that you got up and did what you did is to me just theatrics. Its a tell in my book. LOL Sammy Farha does it all the time and its bad acting. LOL Your lucky he didnt have 88. NIce take down!

I wouldnt have called down anything less than Queens in first part of your post. Too much of a risk without having a monster hand.
