Where's the BS? You called off your stack on a huge over-bet which best case was a coin-flip. You got what you deserved.

I kinda of have to agree with ooze. You put way to much value on a small pair. I know that pocket pair are good HU, but you're still risking everything preflop with a marginal hand.

I don't know you guys, so I'm not sure how strong your games are, nor how much effort I should put into explaining my thinking. I thought I'd add a few sentances though. The hand posted was played very poorly....and I'm being polite :) This may have been lost by the author after the cards rolled out, and an odd outcome followed. The cards dealt after the play, and the cards held by the opponent however don't matter. It is critical that you understand this. What matters in every poker decision is the players possible holdings, and the possible cards to follow. Your decision needs to consider what could happen, and you should only consider the cards if they differ from your assessment of possible scenarios. I hope that makes sense. If you understand why this play is poor, your game will improve tremendously.

Hi Skippy, Im going to have to agree here with everyone else, when I am dealt a small mid PP and someone goes all in I never call unless I can aford to call. I usually fold it to a raise. I fI can se the flop for cheap and hit then I am playing the hand! 9 times out of 10 your going to be beat.

With this though..The board made it completely unlucky for you and you would have had this if it hadnt of done so.

How did you know this? In my opinion this overbet could be a higher middle pair, or two overs... I don't think you can know this is a coinflip. Assuming you did however, why did you call?

If your willing to take chances like this, poker isn't your game... seriously. You say it doesnt matter, but it absolutely does. Calling this bet is a very bad play. I realize your post was about something else, but do you acknowledge that you played this hand incorrectly?
