Hi All:
Let me start off with a full disclosure that I have a financial interest in what I'm about to pimp. (And thx to Cali, Mark and Josh for giving me the okay to post.)
We've had some discussion here about poker training sites such as pokerXfactor and Cardrunners. I've been a member at pXf for years and it's really helped my game. However, one of the drawbacks of such sites is that they are pretty much just a repository of videos, so that real interaction with the pros can be limited. Further, you're basically paying for a subscription to all the material even when you may only be interested in a fraction of the topics.
I recently got involved in a project that takes a different approach that in my opinion overcomes the shortcomings of traditional sites. The model for "Grinder University" as it's called is more like online universities such as U. Phoenix. Rather than subscribing to the site, you buy specific courses. This purchase gives you access to lectures (written and video) and a discussion area where you can discuss the lectures with the instructor and others taking the course.
Rather than try to explain all of this here, you might like to check out a promotional video I made for both the site and my course:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPRA9TS-4pg
The direct link to the site is:
http://www.grinderu.com/courses
I have contributed a PLO8 course that may interest some of you:
http://www.grinderu.com/an-introduction-to-plo8/
(I think you may need to go through a quick, free registration page to get to this.)
We're basically aiming most of the material at recreational players who want to strengthen their games. There's quite a bit of free content (with more to come; this is still pretty new), so I think it may interest many of you.
Any feedback would be most welcome.
Many thanks - Kat
