This is the absolute worst bad beat I have ever seen. At first I had no idea what happened..... Here look! Is there anything we can learn from something like this?

That is one messed up out come, but there is nothing to learn from it. Ref was just on the wrong end of some really crappy luck there. A player goes all-in pre-flop w/ A-7 os and you're (Ref) holding poket K's, that's how you build your chip stack. You want bad plays like this when you're holding a big hand. Nothing Ref could have done to change the out come of this hand.

zomboid was the short stack and had the big blind coming in two more hands for for almost 25% of his stack. He probably felt that it was his best time to make a move since he had an ace. Ref was almost 71% to win pre-flop, just over 83% after the flop and almost 98% on the turn. I'll take almost 98% on the turn all night every night.

So there was only 1 card in the entire deck left to beat him? Is this what people mean by hitting a 1 outter? Im wondering if this only happens roughly 1 time every 5 years to someone who plays 1 game a day on a average?

Id take the 98% anyday too! You still played fanatastic Ref. I just had never seen anything like it and even thought you had won because of the KK you were holding.

Heck. I could have AA and still would have only tied. Thats how my luck goes, and usually at key situations. Thats the 2nd time for me that it has happened, but I don't play much. I'm sure players that play alot have it happen a few times a year. It put me on tilt for a bit, going all-in on the next hand but got no callers, thankfully.

Good thing you didn't stay on tilt too long. You came back for a great finish. That will help you forget bad beats like that. ;)

On a side, that's a mighty fine looking new banner you have there if I do say so myself. :D
